South Maroubra Ocean Swim
An annual ocean swim at Maroubra Beach, organised by South Maroubra SLSC. Entry fees help buy vital lifesaving equipment for our volunteer lifesavers.
Three courses (500m, 1km and 2.5km), cash prizes, a BBQ, live music and recovery from our partners. Stay and make a day of it.

Event information
Three courses, one great day
The courses
- 500m: ages 8 and up, first race of the day
- 1km: ages 12 and up
- 2.5km: ages 12 and up
- All courses start and finish at the south end of the beach
Cash prizes
Thanks to South Sydney Flooring Xtra, for the fastest male and female in each race:
- $1,000 for the 2.5km
- $250 for the 1km
- $50 for the 500m (8 to 14 year olds only)
Prizes from Switch, RCVRI and Engine for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all ages (500m prizes for 8 to 14 year olds only).
Make a day of it
The BBQ fires up from dawn (thanks to Food and Dairy Co), with tunes and a live band from 12.30pm. Massage tents from Switch Physio, ice baths from RCVRI Coogee and post-swim fruit from Parisi’s.
Triple Crown Ocean Swim Series
The final swim in the series (Feb to April 2027)
Murray Rose Malabar Magic + Coogee Island Challenge + South Maroubra Ocean Swim. Two $1,000 cash prizes from South Sydney Flooring Xtra, drawn for one male and one female qualifying swimmer.
To qualify you must enter and complete two of the Triple Crown events, be 10 or older, and be present at the prize draw during the South Maroubra Ocean Swim presentation on Saturday, 24 Apr 2027. Full terms and conditions →

White and black Engine t-shirts with the swim logo on the back. Pre-purchase when you register or buy on the day. Adult $25, child $20.

Parking: Free 4 hour parking outside the South Maroubra Surf Club.
